Crabbies Green Ginger Wine Loft.

On 4th March 1870 my great, great, great, great grandfather Thomas Stark was found hanged here.

He was a cellarman with Crabbies the distillers, a married man with three children and another on the way living at 7 Cables Wynd, Leith. He left no note, and his death was declared 'an unfortunate event' allowing him to be buried in consecrated ground.

I only found this out when I bought a flat round the corner in Bonnington Road. Still get a shiver when I walk passed, even though it has been converted to flats and sold off.
