A moment in time

Trossachs Kirk

We went out for the day today, a drive over to Aberfoyle, and coffee at the David Marshall Lodge..... what a mess they are making there with their renovations...... I remember when the Lodge was built and it was intended we were told as a walkers' shelter...... now it is all about making a profit, with Go Ape and paving etc. Ach well.

We drove over the Duke's Pass and stopped at the wee Trossachs Kirk on the shores of Loch Achray, my favourite church of all. It has great memories for me as when I was young we used to climb on Ben A'an and in the winter would camp on its shoulder. On Sundays we would come down the hill, usually late, to the service (in these days there was a service each Sunday) and the Minister never failed to welcome us, even in our climbing gear. Happy days. In another life I would have been married there!

Today there was a cyclist sitting having his 'drum up' on the seat outside, and the Head Gardener and he had a nice blether, while I rushed around taking photographs of everything.

Afterwards we drove on to Callander, and then home. The weather was brilliant, sunshine all day.

Off dancing tonight. Hope you all have a fab day.
