Beamish

On the way back from the weekend in Durham with MrsCyclops (celebrating her forthcoming birthday) we stopped off at the Beamish. We went down mines, explored machinery and manors and homes and shops and schools and churches... We also used the trams to get around the site, experiencing the early 20th century form of transport that for some unknown reason Edinburgh is resurrecting.

This shot was from a ride we took on a very early self propelled steam engine. It was a wonderful piece of machinery - I love machines where you can see all the moving parts and really understand how they work!

Also back-blipped Durham Cathedral for yesterday.
