A room with a view

Happy St Patricks Day! We have an Irish friend called Patrick and who better to go for a pint with?

The day started early looking for a pub showing the England vs Ireland game. We wandered down Granville St and discovered that the Canadians are a bit more into Paddy's Day than the English. The rest of the day involved tea, beer, mouthwash (mouse wash... Brilliant mispronunciation by our German friend Frank!), cheesecake, and a microbrewery.

This is the Harbour Centre in downtown Vancouver as Andy and I left the party. A bit early but Andy had done 4 hours on his bike that morning. You can pay to go up the Harbour tower in a glass elevator to get a panoramic view of the city. We haven't been up yet, we've been up similar towers in Tokyo and Melbourne and I think the view is always pretty much what you expect it to be- small buildings and tiny people, so I'm happy to imagine it for now.
