Sky at sun down

Overnight rain cleared and from late morning it was generally bright and sunny, though with some clouds around at times, including one that played its part in a rather dramatic looking sunset.

Thank you for comments on yesterday's blip - not a great photo in itself but the associations expressed seem to have been appreciated. The only thing I would add is that it is not the fact that our friends or ourselves have faith that is important, it is Who the faith is in. Today we heard about a nobleman who "took Jesus at His word". The words of Jesus in that instance were that the nobleman's dying son at home 20 miles away was healed by His spoken word. The next day the nobleman arrived home to find his son perfectly well. We simply take Jesus at His word on the subjects of life and death, of good and evil, of Himself and ourselves, of love and forgiveness, of time and eternity. We simply believe that we "boast a God who cannot lie" and that His "exceedingly great and precious promises" can be made personally relevant and real simply by receiving them in the spirit in which they are so freely offered to us and to all who will believe.

If Jesus is who He says He is, trusting in Him is a perfectly rational and sensible response.
