Ice Hockey...in Nottingham

Watching the Nottingham Panthers - my first ever ice hockey game. Had no idea we had a professional league in Britain and it was fairly well attended. Thrilling game, the Panthers took the lead but by the end needed a last minute game to send it into a 5 minute period of extra time and they scored the winner. Great fun.

In this photo both teams are lining up for the national anthem, which felt really bizarre for club sports in this country. Barely anyone sang and there was a general feeling of slight embarrassment. Doubt it's the same in America!
