An Irish Guy Abroad

Yummy

The clogs are those that were worn in the cotton mills here in Lancashire and the Billycock is the name for a Bowler hat named after William Coke for whom the first one was made.

No matter how you look at it the Clog and Billycock is definitely the best restaurant in my local area.

Cathintheattic and I started by sharing a platter of cauliflower fritters with a curry mayonnaise dip. Cath had a Leagrams Lancashire Cheese Soufflé with Chicory & Market Salad served with Pear and Toasted Walnuts. I went off the seasonal menu and had a Sweet Cured Bacon Cutlet with Buttered Savoy Cabbage and Real Chips cooked in dripping with a Grain Mustard Sauce.

Neither of us had a desert unless you count the mini chorley cake that is served with the coffee.
