Wings Over The World.

Usually the Spring Solstice falls on today's date so at last, as if to make up for this year's early start, this morning boasted the first decent sunrise of Spring - heralded by the screeching calls of scores of gulls; soaring low over the local trees and streets, and under the distant vapour trails of transcontinental airliners.

This is a good thing, saying as how the dawn on the 'official' Solstice yesterday was such a miserable washout; a wall of horizon-spanning grey that made one feel that the whole of Creation was in fact situated in an old dole office.
