York

Busy day in York today. We arrived into the town via Monkgate, so figured this would be a good place to start for taking pictures. We trailed around the market and shops, and took the girls to Jorvik.

Quite a few school groups, and we were all very impressed by the Viking poo on display. It was rather sizable. I wouldn't be keen to pass that! In our part of the world, there isn't much call for knowing about vikings, so we surprised some of the staff with our complete ignorance. We failed the Viking 101 question about Erik the something or rather.

After Jorvik, we went to visit our friend Jamie for lunch. Since we last saw him, he has moved house, done some amazing renovations there, got married, had 2 kids and has nearly finished a degree. Life moves! Still the same old comfortable relationship though. Love how all the catching up with everyone feels like no time has passed at all.

We then went to a shopping outlet, and the Husband got himself a real bargain with some Levi jeans. He's stoked about that!

We then headed back into York to meet our friends Mike and Lisa for tea. Really relaxed chilled out evening, topped off by a moonlit wander around Yorkminster.

The kids slept all the way from York back to Kirklevington.
