Sshhh! It's Nyepi!

Today is Nyepi, the Balinese 'Day of Silence' - a full 24hrs of silence, fasting and reflection for the island of Bali.

It is recognised as an Indonesian national holiday, meaning Jakarta has been all but abandoned by most for a long weekend out of the city.

The consequence? NO TRAFFIC WHATSOEVER!!!

Oh, and it was a lovely sunny day, as today's blip of the Hotel Indonesia roundabout shows. The dry season cometh.
