A Year Through My Eyes

Bicycles and Arrack

21.03.12

Our day started on push bikes cycling towards another ancient city. Slightly hairy moment on the main road when being passed by a bus at very close proximity! Several expletives were muttered.

Once we'd cycled round the ancient city we visited a wood factory
which was.....a wood factory, however they did make everything by hand which considering the intricate designs was pretty impressive.

In the evening we had dinner by camp fire and was introduced to Sri Lankan Arrack which is similar to cognac but more like rum but made from coconut and 36% alcohol content. Our group of 10 got through 4 bottles! Some were able to handle their liquor better than others!

This blip shows the carpenter creating a statue of Buddha.
