Singing Starling

I was surrounded by Starlings again this morning when I put out a bowl full of mealworms. The whole lot was gone in about one minute flat! This one started singing (if you can call the jumbled up notes and screeches singing). They're actually amazing songsters and also mimic other birds and sounds. Some of the bird calls I've heard coming from Starlings include the call of a Buzzard, mewing of Herring Gulls, Curlew, Lapwing, Blackbird, Swift and also, amongst others, car alarms, the shop jingle when the door opens, mobile phone calls, the list is endless!
