What a gorgeous day. Who can believe we're having such wonderful weather at the end of March?

Brighton was heaving with people today - locals out enjoying the sunshine and hundreds of people coming down from London for a breath of sea air.

I spent the morning at the beach hut. I love our little glorified shed. It's in Hove, so much quieter than the central Brighton stretch of beach. We usually get down there in early April and give it a spring clean for the season, but the weather is so good I just went down there with a flask of coffee and the papers and sunbathed.

Lots of people had opened up their huts and some were more virtuous than me and were doing their cleaning. As you can see from the interior, ours is a mess at the moment. As the forecast continues to be good, a Spring clean might be a job for during the week.
