The Blessing of the Fleet

Today we went down to the Manly Festival which was a bit of a dead loss. The highlight was watching the Blessing of the Fleet. What is that, you might ask. Well from my point of view it was a bunch of very rich people and their guests doing laps of Manly Harbour in their very expensive boats, waving regally at us mere mortals on the banks. A large number of the boats rarely leave the harbour and judging by the seamanship of some of the skippers, a good thing too.

Mind you, the boats were nice to look at.

We took Jo's Dad along and I think that he enjoyed the spectacle. Afterwards I got him to help me in the garage at home for a while doing odd jobs. We then went to some friends a few streets up from us for beer and darts which extended into chinese for dinner.

All in all, a productive Saturday.
