Student protest

Today was a protest dayfor students of all levels in the province . They have been on strike for a couple of weeks and this was the great gathering. University and CEGEP students were in of course, but I suspect many high-school students played hooky. All of them surrounded by their families, teachers, unions of all kinds, artists. But mostly all students, the youth of the province seemed to gather just north of my workplace. It was quite stunning and amazing, close to 200 000 people marching against rising university fees in the provincial budget. It went on for over an hour, non-stop, people marching and yelling. I heard them from my office for all that time. It was quite something.

This is a huge flag going by for the benefit of the television crews in the helicopters. We never managed to read what was on it. Great communication ploy though.
