Playing Possum on the Forsythia

It's been uncharacteristically warm - almost summer-like - for the past two weeks, and everything is in bloom.

We went outside on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a quick game of possum on the forsythia. The little green dudes enjoyed hanging from their tails: "Look, Ma, no hands!"

Remembering the tragic strawberry incident, I kept close watch to prevent anyone from falling.

We also checked out the bright pink azaleas which just began blooming on Saturday. They were full of fat bumblebees, some of the first I've seen.

They were pretty hefty bumblers and the little green dudes (aka "crittergators") didn't want to tangle with any of them, so we did not attempt any photos on the azaleas; instead, we left them to the bees!
