Butterfly Wings

As I was walking across the lawn I noticed a white butterfly on a fragment of red pinoak leaf and thought it would make a good shot, but I was busy and didn't have a camera on me. Later I returned and it was still there. A closer look revealed that the butterfly was dead. The slow opening and closing of the wings was due to a gentle breeze.

Cabbage white butterfly, Pieris rapae, female.
