Necklaces of life

This is toad spawn. Long necklaces of jet beads each (hopefully) one a baby toad. Apparently they can be anything up to 2 metres in length!
Very tricky to handle because the mucilaginous sheath, apart from offering protection to the eggs, is really slippy. Just when you think you have got it the whole lot slides through your fingers and tumbles back into the pond.
Can't find a toad anywhere now so this lot are on their own.
