Beneath Biscay

Chiloe Wigeon

It was a lovely sunny day today, and quite quiet as there was a general strike. On the way home I took a long detour via Gijon's main park with a view to getting something a bit different, for me at least, to blip.
After taking numerous shots of ducks and other assorted water fowl in the lake, I came across this little thing. It not only looks cute, but has a call to match.
It seems from my elementary research that it is a Chiloe Wigeon (Anas sibilatrix), a native of the southern part of south america.
