Bruised and battered

When I found this blossom on the pavement while walking Jasper this afternoon I put it in a plastic bag that I just happened to have in my pocket and brought it home... as you do. And I wasn't entirely surprised that the petals looked a bit the worse for wear, but it's still beautiful isn't it?
