The Movies

We usually make it to the movies once a week here in Zihuatanejo. It doesn't much matter what is playing, movie night is an excuse to get our of the apartment and see a little of the local action. We have two choices - Ixtapa (a 15 minute ride north) where the theater is much newer, much cooler, and has much better sound/picture. Tonight, we hit our downtown theater with hordes of others. They were fortunately in line for The Hunger Games, while we were going to see This Means War. House three, our theater, is upstairs from house one and is maybe 25 seats. The sound from the main screen bleeds over into our room and a big fan in the corner serves as air conditioning. Popcorn comes from a microwave and no one checks if you bring in a couple of beers. The best part is that Wednesday is two for one night, both of us get in for 40 pesos (less than $3.50 USD)!
