Knocky! [sic]

Apparently our last day of proper sunshine, though I find it hard to believe. For my uni work's sake, I really need it to be - so I can get the motivation to stay indoors and write a bloody essay about the Evolution of Flight!!

We were woken to the student call of a drunken flatmate shouting 'hullo!' though the letterbox at 3:30am, before a small cacophony of noise as Sean and his mates from home (just a few miles east of here) congratulated Lucy for her recent election in the EUSA elections.

However, had a lush day out in the sun. Elevenses in Peter's yard with Meg, Fay and Tom's friend from home, before taking a packed lunch to George Square.

After Clarence's timely demise, another mouse (swiftly called Bernie) has moved in to take his place. A mouse catcher (though judging by the size of him, this guy had never caught anything that wasn't between two slices of bread) came up to set some poison.

This guy was so fat, that the stairs nearly killed him. The first thing he did was to waddle to the kitchen and lie on the floor, spreading across the room like a wave, as he rested/set about pulling panels off to find the mousy hidey holes. He moved like a snake, staying lying down, and shuffled on his sizeable belly to the next port of call, where he pulled out a very old frying pan from the depths of mouse kingdom. He also stank of BO which didn't help his general image, but he was nice enough and engaged us in some great horror stories of mouse infested Edinburgh.

After a walk with Sean along the Braid Burn and back via St Luca's to get some ice cream , Sean set about making sweet potato gnocchi, which tasted amazing. Cream and mushroom sauce with a great salad.

In the evening I painted my laptop with blackboard paint, we'll see the results tomorrow...
