So, been awake since 5 o'clock this morning in anticipation of taking first born beautiful boy to the day surgery unit to get a plate fitted to stabilise his # wrist. Got to the ERI on time, went to the wrong area of the hospital, was redirected to correct ward and, after an hour, I left him to await his surgery. Had just come off the by-pass, almost home, when he 'phones to say that surgery's cancelled come back tomorrow. Arghh. He - and I - are anxious enough about this without the stress of further delay and to go through it all again tomorrow; at least we'll know where to go.

By the time I had gone back to pick him up and then faffed about looking for somewhere to eat that was easy to park nearby (ha ha) we were both extremely hungry grumpy. However, a walk along the Water of Leith secured today's Blip, which cheered me up and a full Scottish breakfast later FBBB was almost smiling too.
