The bridesmaids

It's been a long day today. Actually, it's been a shorter day today - the clocks went back last night and the days feel very much shorter.

The charity I am involved with (Delta Therapy Dogs) had a stall at the Doggy Day out. The principle fundraising at this event is Cooks Hill Surf Life Club but we always like to keep a profile at dog events. There were all sorts of events going on with husky display teams, agility demonstrations and fancy dress and other competitions. I had maybe one or two blips from there but the sunset looked like it might be a nice one (until a bank of clouds came in) so I tootled off to look for a nice seascape. As is often the case, I noticed as I drove past the baths some brides. There were five in fact and they had been lying in the water in their full wedding gear. One was in the water with her bridesmaid and the other were dripping at the edge.

It turned out that they were a group of friends who had all got married in the dresses they were wearing and had decided that they wanted to DO something with them. They had got themselves all dolled up and had some bridesmaids (daughters) in tow. They had a photographer doing all the normal wedding shots but there were no signs of the grooms. They probably had more sense and knew their wives would be up to no good and stayed home with a cool one or two.

At this point they had moved to the baths and were walking down to the starting blocks of the pool and where they later jumped in. My shot of that was not really good enough and I preferred this one of the bridesmaids. The one in the middle was dancing about but I liked her expression with the other watching on.

I put a couple of images of the brides here and the next one in the folio if you are interested.
