Palm Sunday - Ramos

In a nation of ninety million people, scattered around 7,100 islands and with a Cathollic population comprising more than 50 percent of it, Palm Sunday or Ramos, is a ritual that has been observed for centuries. The early hot and scorching sun is no reason to miss this. Devotees gather at the town plaza to have their palm leaves blessed by the parish priest. Children dressed in white, with their heads festooned with flower rings walk alongside while they throw flower petals along the path all the way back to the church.
