Not every day

A chair for a giant

Cadair (or Cader) Idris is supposedly the seat of a mythical giant. Although it may look a bit like a volcanic crater, and the rocks are indeed igneous, it was actually formed by a glacier. The most southerly mountain in Snowdonia/Eryri, it is one of the most accessible and rewarding to climb. From the main peak of Penycadair one can see the whole of Cardigan Bay, on a good day. Unfortunately, on this particular day all three peaks stayed firmly in cloud until I was halfway down again. The lake is Llyn Cau.
