Urban forest

With Dawn having her turn up in the hills I took the boys down for a wander on the opposite bank of the Carron that I usually cycle into work on.

It would appear that the woods are some kind of urban regeneration, probably part of the brown field left over from the aluminium days. Asda have some of it, the rest has nicely planted rows of fast growing birch with the accompanying dog shit bags, burnt out "stuff", stashes of booze cans and stolen bikes dumped in stream and ditches. A few wee trashed signs showed the EU paid for it. Question is, as it neighbours residential areas and the industry is fucked (except the Asda depot) then why plant trees and not houses? Why then dig up the outer edges of our towns and build there? Never mind, it's a forest, it's natural isn't it? Well apart from the fact the trees are grown like wheat.

We then retired to MacDonalds for that special "Dad on his own" lunch. Irrating toys were included and back to the house for them to go mental with their mates in the street. Down to my Mums for dinner later, she can always tempt us back in with a roast ;)
