pretty polly

okay well it could be jack, not polly... but it's certainly a pretty parrot!

these red berries are just in our garden, overhanging our bedroom balcony, and these rainbow lorikeets have taken to regularly feeding on them in the afternoons. their colours are just spectacular - a colour bomb! a girl from work told me she used to have one as a pet and it's name was 'skittles' - isn't that appropriate.

they're so incredibly tame. i had my hand right up beside this one, holding the branch of berries for it and it didn't bat an eye.
