Beneath Biscay

Another brick in the wall

Odds and ends of ancient Roman masonry built into a modern wall.

I think this is such a good way to display them. The wall is right in the vicinity of the site of Gijon's Roman town wall, where the masonary would have been found. Here they are on display for all to see and examine at any time.

Otherwise the fate of such fragments might be a place on the floor of an out of the way room in a local museum. Once in a while to receive a second glance from a passing visitor. They might even while away their time in a museum storeroom.

Much better to be out here in the open.
