What an interesting morning it was, met the King's first wife for a meet and greet! Beautiful crystal chandeliers welcomed the visitors into the entrance hall with traditional salutation of Sandalwood incense, a local lady was holding the burner close to us and waved the smoke towards our direction (note to oneself, stop breathing altogether as the smoke is a bit overwhelming). I was told that the piece of Sandalwood they use is around 120 - 150 years old, which makes it very pricey.

Burning incense can help to create a romantic mood been thought of as an aphrodisiac. Breathing in the aromatic smoke from a sandalwood incense stick can help to lift melancholy and promote restful sleep. It subdues aggression and irritability, promotes compassion and openness and enhances meditation. Sandalwood is particularly good for stress relief, especially when combined with lavender or bergamot.

We were NOT ALLOWED to take any photos, so after our gathering, I took a ride through Riffa Village to capture it's true character and the difference of what I witness earlier to this photo is gigantic!
