Pointy Thing

A standard Seattle image of the Space Needle here. I spent a couple of hours walking round the city in the late afternoon trying to get a sense of the place and what to do and concluded that boat trips will be a good idea, because pedestrians don't get much to look at.

I am writing this over breakfast (salmon hash with poached eggs) in Pike Place Market, with a great view over Puget Sound. But a good view for the human eye isn't always a good view for the camera, since we are such experts at photoshop-ing what we see, 'cloning out' obstructions and 'enlarging' points of interest.

I think I'll take the commuter ferry out to Bainbridge Island this evening to get a different perspective.
