Of your charity latch this door

Until this evening, it was, as Mum said, a wet day without any rain. So I was able to continue with the gardening and managed to finish by lunchtime. As a consequence we had time to go for a jaunt to Waterperry to the east of Oxford. It is an old and famous nursery located in the grounds of Waterperry House. For the first time, I visited the small church there, St. Mary the Virgin. It is over 1000 years old, dating back to the Normans and has some of the oldest stained glass in the country. But what caught my eye was this lovely rhyme attached to the door in the porch.
So at the last minute my planned blip of Mum's companion Robin was trumped !
