Wood chips on a small island near the Crofton pulp and paper mill. The wood chips came from the barges of chips anchored near the mill.
Low tide when we were able to walk to some of the small islands

Today we looked for other places to access the Chemainus River estuary and discovered a small park near the pulp mill on the private haul road belonging to the pulp mill. Signs forbid digging in the area because the land is traditional land used by the Halalt people, First Nations tribe.
