Was It Really So Long Ago

Mission Accomplished

Thanks to fellow blippers Julia Lampam, Damian Grounds and their Instagram posts, I discovered that David Hockney's Big Picture exhibition was to end today - discovered only this morning.

We just managed to sneak some time to go and see it. It was well worth it. I enjoyed the video wall using 9 DSLR cameras to produce an HD composite picture on 9 HD tv screens.

My favourites were the huge oil paintings of Woldgate Woods, each painted on 6 large separate panels and painted during different seasons.

Those pictured above, were all 'painted' on David's iPad, enlarged and printed. It has become a replacement for the sketchbook in recent years, an instant drawing tool constantly at Hockney's disposal.

I hope you like it.
