Allotment envy

Spring has sprung and I have forked compost into my tiny 2m x 1m veg bed... I have also emailed Edinburgh's Allotment Officer to ask about the progress of my application for an allotment. I think I applied about four years ago and the waiting list was four to five years.
Maybe this year I'll get lucky.
