Missy!

This is the latest member of our clan! She is a six- nine-week old cocker spaniel and has been with us (and by that, I mean with mum & dad, in Wales) for two of those! Suffice to say I was very excited to meet her today. And to see the folks, too. (I hasten to add!)

It wasn't an early finish last night but I sensibly switched to tonic waters from the cocktails, before midnight, which meant that i managed my intended departure time, from
Surbiton, to wizz up the A3/M25/M4 to collect my sis from Swindon and then up to Gloucester and across to Ross-on-Wye (the scenic route then), in time for a riverside (ish) picnic with mum & dad and this little bundle of cuteness!

The weather was dry and not too cold, which, frankly, was a bit of a result! A chicken salad, home-made simnel cake and flasks of tea had been lovingly prepared and was gratefully consumed, while many passers-by looked on, with evident puppy-envy!

A pleasant few hours then, before repeating the journey in reverse; checking back in at the Kellys' Inn, where I quaffed their booze, watched their telly and read their papers - they were out seeing that Geordie comedienne (Sarah Milli-something) on her visit to High Wyc.

So Missy has bagged herself a pretty decent home, where she is loved to the stars and back already. No mean feat, given her predecessor of the canine species.
