River Avon

This photograph is of the tautologically-named River Avon, between Grangemouth and Polmont. It was taken from a bridge that is known as the "Jinkaboot Bridge". This isn't just a colloquial name, it even appears on official council documentation - Google it if you don't believe me!

I can only guess that the original road must have run parallel to the river, then made a sharp turn to cross the bridge and another to return to its original direction - hence "jinkin' aboot". With new roads in place to service the industry in Grangemouth, however, the path of the original road has been lost to view, and this bridge sits off to the side of the main Grangemouth to Bo'ness Road.
