Silence is NOT golden

A Mummy and Katie day today. We had a lovely few hours at home, just being. She played a lot, I cracked on with some jobs. She came and cuddled on my knee as she ate her breakfast, and again for a snack later. She kept pottering up just because and we stopped every now and again for a little tickle and chase.

Late morning, we got on the bike and headed out to collect a parcel - we arrived at the parcel office and it turned out to be 8! I'd been concerned why nothing had arrived and now had them all in one go. Katie thought Christmas had come. We cycled home and investigated a couple of them - some jammies for Katie from the Pinks and a birthday present for me from Fernie's Mummy. Both lovely, thankyou.

We went back out on the bike to meet a friend for lunch. Katie had no interest in food at all! We headed for a walk round the shops. I had a parcel to post and we discovered a little museum next to the post office. It had been the council rooms so we explored round. Katie liked a huge seat from 1604, played hide and seek under a 300 year old table and ran round the court room. She loved the lions and other animals carved on everything.

We got caught in the rain as we headed home so changed into jammies when we got back. She then had a bit of a mischievous half hour. She likes privacy to toilet, so I'd let her get on with it. But apparently, she'd got distracted by a (stowed fairly high) bottle of talc. It took 3 washes of her hair, a hoover, and a hand shampoo of the carpet to begin to hide the effects.
