Kiltwalk Speyside

The Tartan Army have a tradition of Kiltwalks to raise money for charity. On 13th May they have a walk organised starting at Buckie and Fochabers and finishing at the Mash Tun in Aberlour. The distance is either 26 miles or 16 miles depending on the start chosen.

Perish the though I would be participating in a walk of such a length after the invention of the internal combustion engine. However I have been volunteered to be one of the photographers for the event. Hope I remember to put a film in the camera. Or perhaps a memory card would be more useful.

Aberlour is in the heart of the Speyside whisky district, an area where there are many distilleries, including one of the same name as the town. Several of the pubs in this area have a huge selection of whistles, running into the hundreds.

I am sure the walkers will appreciate a dram when they complete the walk. Pipers and other musical and gastronomic delights will be be available. They may also choose to dip a toe in the Spey to cool their tired feet.
