Le marché, place Carnot, Carcassonne

Off to Carcassonne today for a bit of shopping -- essentially buying clothes for S, who very rarely buys smart clothes. When he does, we always go to "John's Club" in Carcassonne. It has a lovely old-fashioned atmosphere and very expensive clothes. But: "Trousers too long? No problem, our seamstress will fix them and you can pick them up in half an hour." That's the sort of shop I like.

Outside, the market was in full swing in the dappled shade of the plane trees. A man in head-to-foot pink lycra posed for me when he saw the camera, but I preferred the colours and life of this shot.

A successful morning -- we also spent an hour in the Orange shop sorting out our phone contract with two very helpful staff. If all goes according to plan (one can never be sure with telecoms companies) we will end up with everything we need on one contract instead of two, with a better service for less money.
