A:- "RED SKY AT NIGHT, SHEPHERD'S DELIGHT"

According to last night's Blip, the weather should have been good today. So I was expecting blue skies and wall to wall sunshine. Instead, we've had heavy rain and high winds.
Sadly this afternoon during a ferocious gust, our old almond tree was decapitated.

B:-"IT'S AN ILL WIND THAT BLOWS NOBODY ANY GOOD"

With mixed feelings, it will be cut up tomorrow for next winter's fire wood. Along with the trimmed olive trees, the wood store will be full this year.

But next spring, while we bask in the warm glow of our log burner, there won't be the spectacle of the old tree covered in white almond blosom.
