Cable Innovator

Weighing in at just over ten and half thousands tonnes with eighty cabins onboard is the world's largest fibre optic cable layer, Cable Innovator. It has been at anchor off Swordale, Isle of Lewis all weekend.

A quick check of ship AIS website revealed it's been hard at work in the waters of the Minch off the Isle of Lewis for a couple of weeks in the past month now.

Winter appears to be wanting to make a last gasp as there was a health dump of snow on top of the North Harris mountains including Clisham (799m) this morning. Perhaps I will manage one last day's winter walking in the Cairngorms Mountains next week?
