Husbanding

Berthuis (?) and his keeper at Edinburgh Zoo today during a short talk for visitors.

They were both actually perfectly friendly because of the anmial husbandry which the keeper has been using for the last year to accustom Berthuis to his company so that it is easier to care for him. Most surprising snippets of information: they've been supplementing their winter diet with fermented hazel leaves from off the hill; and both rhinos had to learn to recognize their names in this keeper's accent as they were born in the Netherlands and Germany.
