An Obsessive Photographer

The Circus Tavern, Manchester.

In Manachester for a couple of days for work, needless to say a Chinese and a pint had my name on them.

Tonight we popped in to the Circus Tavern which has the title of being Manchester's Smallest Pub. And that is what makes the place so good (and Jan of course). If you can imagine a very small terrace house with hallway and two small reception rooms you'd be pretty close.

As you walk in to what would be the hallway, you are greated with the 2 foot wide bar which is effectively under the stairs.

Due to its size it just attracts a lively and friendly atmosphere, you will find that within minuets you are chatting to somebody with an interesting tale or a good joke to share.

The place is over 220 years old and is on the edge of the China Town part of central Manchester on Portland Street. It gained its name from being popular with the passing Performers, Traveling Showmen and Market Traders on their way to the city.

If you are ever staying in Manchester City Center, pop in and Say hi to Jan the landlady and have at least one drink, I can assure you you will almost certainly stay for at least one more. If you do pop in, mention you got the idea to pop in from the guy who took the photo for his Blipfoto Daily Blip.

Off to bed to sleep off the effects of monosodium glutamate gluttony.
