Wide Bargate Boston

it is not widely known that in its very early days, Boston was the major port in England for goods from Europe. Later in the 16 and 17th centuries it became prosperous with the draining of the fens and the speculation and city investment that was encouraged.
The buildings in this blip are spoilt as in most towns and cities by the 'modern' shop fronts that seem not to acknowledge the true beauty of the building above!
