Escaping the City

Today was the holiday of some saint of Vitória... least, I think that's what this was all about... so we had the day off of classes. My roommate and another friend decided to go down to Guaraparí, a city south of Vitória with some pretty amazing beaches. We camped out overnight in a pousada by the beach and enjoyed the drizzly day that followed. We saw some small sea turtles in the water, but due to the temperature and lack of sun, didn't spend much time in the water ourselves. We DID, however, build a sandcastle that found some admirers in the other beach-goers, and at the end of the day the owner of the pousada offered us a ride back to Vitória, saving us about R$15 and a longer trip!
