Fairytale Layer Cake

This is Durham Castle in the morning sunshine, shot from the east coast mainline train.

I love the way the early morning light turns the vista into layers and that it almost makes it look as if time has stood still. In reality of course the castle is a ruin and a museum but you can image what an impressive status symbol and power base this would have been once.

Second castle blip in two days!

I'm in London for a couple of days and meeting up with fellow blipper McDawg tonight. Should be fun.
