Titus & Molecule Man

On a wild & wet Wednesday we sped through the spray up the M1 to the wonderful Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Titus was thrilled that dogs were allowed to appreciate the Henry Moores, Elizabeth Frinks, Barbara Hepworths on display in the 500 acres of parkland. Titus also quite liked the sheep & lambs that cavorted round the exhibits.

Even in the wind & rain the park held a magical attraction reinforcing arts connection with natural elements. Miro was the main attraction but I was particularly taken with Molecule Man by Jonathan Borofsky. He believes that his role as an artist is to ask questions about human life and he argues that our view of art should not be limited to the experience of looking at a picture in a gallery.
Titus was quite taken with this gigantic piece. I took this picture just after he had marked it. I like the way he is looking exceedingly imperious.

As we drove back Titus fell asleep. I'd like to think he was dreaming of the sculptures but I think he was counting sheep.
