Wet beech leaves

We walked in Lyme Park again today. Even in the dreadfully wet weather it was good to see the new growth. These beech leaves were a vivid green. The ground was white over with hailstones.
As soon as we got home we lit the fire, put the kettle on and hung out our coats to drip dry.
The dogs are now licking the worst of the wet off themselves. They will be warm and dry soon.
