The old mill cottage

This cottage was once the home of the foreman/manager of the needle mill, now a museum, which is adjacent. It was for a while let as a private (and somewhat rundown) house. In its wisdom the council decided to turn it into a tea room. It was not a success and was sold off as a private house. The current owners have done a lot of work including turning the tea room extension into a proper connected annex. This picture shows what used to be an untidy space with a blank wall broken by an ugly door. I think it now looks attractive.
